Entrepreneur and philanthropist Joseph L. Rotman is marking another in a long list of achievements and honours. He is among the latest inductees into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame.
Rotman is the current chair of Roy-L Capital Corporation. Over his career he has been involved in establishing a number of companies in fields ranging from oil exploration to merchant banking. But he is probably best known for the business school that bears his name — The Rotman School of Management — at the University of Toronto. Rotman, who turns 74 in January, received his Master of Commerce degree from the U of T in 1960.
Along with education, Rotman also has strong ties to healthcare and the arts. He is the current chair of the Canada Council for the Arts. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada.
Report on Business talked to Joseph Rotman about his rules for doing business and his induction into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame.
