Energy company Emera Inc cracked the top 10 list for the first time tying for the No. 4 spot.

After dropping from first to 10th in last year's rankings, engineering firm SNC-Lavalin climbed back up to the No. 7 spot, which it shared with two other companies.

TransCanada Corp.'s controversial Keystone XL pipeline has garnered a lot of attention for the company. But it was able to secure a seventh-place finish in this year's rankings, joining the top 10 group for the first time since 2006 when it placed 10th.

Coming in tied for 10th place is Bank of Montreal, which has traditionally ranked very high on The Globe and Mail's Board Games survey.
