Colour your world
Colour of the year for 2011: honeysuckle. “A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life,” the Pantone Color Institute writes in revealing the choice.
Questions to get you going
Here are some questions to ask as the year draws to a close, from life coach Eileen Chadnick: If 2010 had a theme for you, what would you name it? What were the lessons for the past year? What do you need to let go of or complete before the year is over? What do you want for yourself in 2011, and how will you make that happen? How will you stay inspired and focused next year? What are your personal learning and development goals for the year?

Be tough to boost profits
Alexander Hiam, author of Business Innovations For Dummies, urges you to deal with your cash-flow issues in 2011 by stopping anything that no longer makes a profit. Buttress that by finding your most valuable asset – by looking at your business as an outsider would – and making that the core of your business.
Living in the margin
As you ponder the year that stretches ahead, consider how much margin you have in your life. Consultant Guy Harris notes that the margin might be in time, or finances, or any other aspect of your life – the flexibility or extra space to allow you to do what you need to do when something spontaneous occurs or something goes wrong.
Test your online ads
One of the most useful tools from 2010 for Internet marketers, according to expert Larry Chase, is Adwords Campaign Experiments, part of the Google Adwords toolbox, which allows you to run split tests on your Adwords campaigns to see which keywords fare better.
