Where do millennials want to work?
A new survey from research firms Universum Group and Brainstorm reveals areas of interest for Canadian university students when it comes to their future careers
What companies do Canadian university students want to work for? What are millennials looking for in a job? Those questions and others are answered in a new survey from research firms Universum Group and Brainstorm. Their <a href="http://www.universumglobal.com/IDEAL-Employer-Rankings/The-National-Editions/Canadian-Student-Survey">IDEAL Employer Rankings</a> polled nearly 29,000 Canadian undergraduate students on a variety of career topics. Canadian business-school students would most like to work in the banking industry (33 per cent), followed by auditing and accounting (26 per cent) and management and strategy consulting (18 per cent).</br>Mike Sturk/Reuters

The top career goal for both engineering/IT and business students was to have a work-life balance. Sixty-four per cent of business students listed it as their top goal, compared with 60 per cent of engineering students.</br>Jupiterimages/Getty Images
For business students, the top attribute they seek in a job is a friendly work environment (50 per cent). For engineering/IT students, the top attribute they seek in a job is a creative and dynamic work environment (57 per cent). The second and third most important attributes are challenging work (54 per cent) and a friendly work environment (47 per cent), respectively.</br>Edgar Su/Reuters
