Australia's economic growth slowed considerably in the second quarter. Still, Australia is on pace to notch its 24th consecutive year of positive GDP growth. Douglas Porter, chief economist at BMO Nesbitt Burns, says in a note the "extraordinarily lucky country" would set a new record with 26 continuous years of growth. However, the economic slowdown in China, Australia's largest trading partner, poses a threat to the streak.
