Inflation rates across Canada

OTTAWA— The Canadian Press

Canada's national inflation rate was 2.5 per cent in January, Statistics Canada says. Here's what happened in the provinces and territories. (Previous month in brackets):

  • Newfoundland and Labrador 2.9 (3.2)
  • Prince Edward Island 2.9 (2.9)
  • Nova Scotia 2.7 (2.8)
  • New Brunswick 3.2 (3.3)
  • Quebec 2.8 (2.5)
  • Ontario 2.4 (2.0)
  • Manitoba 2.0 (2.6)
  • Saskatchewan 2.3 (2.5)
  • Alberta 2.9 (2.9)
  • British Columbia 1.7 (1.7)
  • Whitehorse, Yukon 2.5 (2.8)
  • Yellowknife, N.W.T., 4.0 (3.5)
  • Iqaluit, Nunavut 1.5 (1.9)

Statistics Canada also released rates for major cities, but cautioned that figures may fluctuate widely because they are based on small statistical samples (Previous month in brackets):
