The Venus, the high-tech yacht built for the late Steve Jobs, is being held in the Port of Amsterdam under a court order, over a billing dispute with its designer Philippe Starck.

The 78-metre aluminium yacht, built by Dutch luxury shipyard Feadship to a design by Mr. Starck and the Dutch naval architects De Voogt, was launched in October, a year after the Apple co-founder's death.

But the Court of Amsterdam allowed Mr. Starck to put a lien on the yacht over his claim that Mr. Jobs' estate owes him €3-million ($3.9-million U.S.).

The Dutch Financieele Dagblad newspaper reported a bailiff had entered the yacht Wednesday and delivered an order barring it from leaving the harbour.

Mr. Starck reportedly claims he is owed 6 per cent of the yacht's total cost, which he put at €150-million. Mr Jobs' heirs say the yacht cost only €105-million.
