The average bonus paid in New York City's securities industry slumped 9 per cent to $146,200 (U.S.) in 2015, according to an estimate from the state comptroller. "Wall Street bonuses and profits fell in 2015, reflecting a challenging year in the financial markets," New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli said in a statement. "While the cost of legal settlements appears to be easing, ongoing weaknesses in the global economy and market volatility may dampen profits in 2016."
