Julie Payette, Astronaut Add to ...

Julie Payette is an engineer, and one of four chosen from over five thousand applicants to become a Canada Space Agency astronaut in 1992. After two flights, on the Space Shuttle Discovery and Space Shuttle Endeavour, she has logged over 600 hours in outer space. Ms. Payette was the first Canadian to participate in an International Space Station assembly mission and to board the Space Station. Recently, Ms. Payette was awarded NASA's Exceptional Service Medal.
