The right vision can inspire innovation, passion and pride

Your vision should be more than a bottom line– it should be a tangible big-picture goal that galvanizes your people and exemplifies the values of your organization

Joseph L. Coyle in his first egg carton factory in Los Angles, California, February 1924. Mr. Coyle was the owner and founder of the Interior News newspaper in Smithers, British Columbia, when in 1911 he solved a problem for a local farmer whose eggs were breaking during shipment to the Aldermere Hotel near present-day Telkwa. Mr. Coyle's solution was to invent the paper 'egg carton' which he at first produced by hand before also designing the machinery to manufacture them in quantity. By 1919, he decided to move from Smither to Vancouver to manufacture the carton with help from the United Paper Products. That business failed and Joseph Coyle moved his machinery to Los Angeles and the Egg-Safety Carton Co. was born. Investors were granted licensing rights and Coyle Egg-Safety cartons were manufactured in Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh and London, Ontario for markets around the world.
