Starting a business is easy, growing it is tough

With a bit of money and a lot of energy, anyone can start a business - in theory, at least.

Building a viable business, however, is incredibly difficult, and helps explain why only 70 per cent of small firms in Canada survive the first five years, according to Industry Canada.
