Blogging can be a useful way to update customers, keep staff informed and to differentiate yourself from competitors. But is it right for your business?

It's an important question. Blogging is a time-consuming undertaking, and with so many ways to use technology to promote a company, it's not an easy decision to make.

The Globe's technology reporter, Omar El Akkad, is halfway through a four-part series on blogging, and you can read the first two installments here and here.

He was joined by two guests, and the three of them provided tips and took your questions.

Carmi Levy is an independent technology analyst and journalist based in London, Ont. He publishes in a broad range of mainstream and tech industry publications, including Yahoo! Canada and Processor magazine. He is a frequent guest on CTV News, Business News Network and CBC Radio and Television, and he comments extensively on the impact of technology on business, culture and society.

Alexandra Samuel is the director of the Social + Interactive Media Centre at Emily Carr University.
