Welcome to the latest in a monthly series of Google+ Hangout interviews with small-business owners and operators from across Canada.

Report on Small Business editor Katherine Scarrow was joined by Mark Jenkins and Danielle Casario – two self-professed 'lobster lovers' – to discuss their businesses and to outline some of the unique challenges and benefits of operating in Prince Edward Island.

Mr. Jenkins is a lobster fisherman who runs excursions in Charlottetown. His tour company, Top Notch Charters, offers guests to learn about and experience the PEI lobster industry – including hauling real traps, holding live lobsters and eating seafood. The excursion, considered a must-do attraction, has been featured on the TV program Live with Regis and Kelly. You can learn more about his company on Twitter.

Ms. Casario is the owner of Island Favorites, the top-ranked restaurant in Cavendish on TripAdvisor. Serving a variety of dishes, including lobster rolls, chicken and tuna paninis, chowders and potato salad, has quickly become a popular choice for locals and tourists alike. Active on social networking sites – including Facebook and Twitter – Ms. Casario has made it her mission in her second season of business to respond to each and every review on TripAdvisor.
