G Adventures for communication. Highlights: Introduced "Shooting the Ship with Bruce Poon Tip" – which is a monthly video newscast from the CEO to all employees around the world. Communicates company updates, issues, announcements, etc.
1-800-GOT-JUNK? for corporate social responsibility. Highlights: A group of employees competed on the 'Canada Sings' show on Global TV and donated the $10,000 winnings to Harmony House, a school for autistic children; they recently raised $30,000 for the fifth Yard Sale for the Cure charity event; Toronto team members helped a family that lost a child to muscular dystrophy donate her Ergolift to a family in need. The family was initially going to throw it away after they couldn’t find it a new home, but the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team researched and made it happen

Adecco Employment Services for professional and personal growth. Highlights: The company's Short Term Exchange Program allows employees the opportunity to take a step toward international mobility with work exchanges in other countries
HR Downloads for culture. Highlights: Overall 'have fun' mentality and making it a place employees want to be. Culture perks include: foosball tables, patio days, hosting meetings in the local park, bowling outings, daily department contests. Last year the CEO bought employees Thanksgiving turkeys. The company has seen high numbers of employee referrals due to their culture and work environment
Meridian Credit Union for leadership. Highlights: Their leadership team successfully drives employee engagement, as evidenced in their annual engagement surveys; uses the Four Keys Coaching Guide tool designed by the Gallup organization; they also have a leadership training program based on building a culture of engagement and performance

Eli Lilly Canada for accountability and performance. Highlights: The company conducts annual 'Voice of the Employee' surveys, and senior leadership creates plans to address any areas needed; recent results show Eli Lilly Canada advanced to one of the most engaged Lilly affiliates in the world; and managers with direct reports receive feedback through 'Pulse' survey that is then incorporated into development plans
First Canadian Title for rewards and recognition. Highlights: Launched a Web-based employee rewards and recognition program that distributes nearly 1,000 recognitions per month and rewards points that employees can redeem for thousands of items from a catalog. The company also has an Awards of Excellence program, which is a peer-nominated award based on employees demonstrating values, and winners are chosen in front-line and leadership categories. Awards are handed out at a formal event. The company also holds Employee Appreciation Week and has a President’s Club for sales team overachieving targets
