IMG-0716 2 June 2003 Courseulles-sur-Mer, France The Juno Beach Centre More than 1,000 veterans of the Second World War have travelled to Franceís Normandy Coast to participate in opening ceremonies of the Juno Beach Centre on June 6, 2003. Reservists from the Queenís Own Rifles and Royal Regiment of Canada (both from Toronto), the First Hussars (London, Ont), the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and several cadets from the Royal Military College of Canada (Kingston) will provide a military presence and ceremonial music at the event and members of the Canadian Parachute Centre based out of Trenton, Ont. will parachute onto the same beach where veterans landed 59 years ago on D-Day.
