David Chalmers, a financial adviser at Vancouver-based Nicola Wealth Management.

Welcome to the latest in our monthly series of Google+ Hangout interviews with small-business owners, operators and experts from across Canada.

Report on Small Business editor Sean Stanleigh was joined by David Chalmers, a financial adviser at Vancouver-based Nicola Wealth Management, to discuss cash flow. It may sound boring, but sound cash-flow management is vital to the health of any business.

Mr. Chalmers began his career in the investment industry in 1973, working at two different life insurance companies, where he provided technical support to financial advisers. In 1985, he joined a major Vancouver investment advisory firm and spent the next 25 years providing investment and retirement income planning to clients.
