Joseph Iuso and Brian Crozier are executives at UseMyBank, a Toronto firm that enables customers to pay for online purchases directly from their bank accounts.

They're looking to expand the company's global reach, but that costs money.

So the paired turned to the popular CBC show Dragon's Den to try to get it. Their pitch? $1 million in capital in exchange for a 5-per-cent stake. The Dragons wanted 40 per cent. Mr. Iuso and Mr. Crozier said 'no.'
