Bio:

Vancouver franchise lawyer Tony Wilson is head of the Franchise Law Group at Boughton Law Corp., and he regularly practices in the areas of franchising, licensing and intellectual property law. He is ranked as a leading Canadian franchise lawyer by LEXPERT and Who’sWho Legal, and he is an adjunct professor at Simon Fraser University.

Mr. Wilson acts for national and international franchisors and prepares franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents and related documentation to enable businesses to franchise in Canada. He also assists franchisees, master franchisees and distributors in negotiating their agreements, and he maintains one of the largest hotel, restaurant and hospitality industry practices in Western Canada.

He is the author of Buying a Franchise in Canada: Understanding and Negotiating your Franchise Agreement, a guide to persons seeking to acquire a franchised business. He is also the author of Manage Your Online Reputation, a book written to guide individuals and businesses on how to monitor and protect their personal and corporate reputations on social media.

In addition to his franchise practice, Mr. Wilson advises clients on intellectual property matters such as software and technology licensing and on all aspects of trademark, copyright, trade secrets, confidentiality, privacy law and online reputation management law.
