Beacon Securities adds trader, bankerANTONIO BRONIC/Reuters

Beacon Securities keeps adding to its roster of financiers, bringing on two managing directors to bulk up trading and investment banking.

Former Desjardins Securities head trader Paul Hardy joins the trading desk, while Peter Greenwood, a banker at Fraser Mackenzie, joins on the corporate finance side.

Mr. Hardy left Desjardins a year ago, after running the trading desk for nine years.

Mr . Greenwood has spent two decades in investment banking. Before Fraser Mackenzie, he was a partner at Paradigm Capital. He also headed the industrial products and transportation team at Scotia Capital earlier in his career, according to his biography on the Fraser Mackenzie web site.

Beacon has ambitions to turn from an East Coast-focused firm into a national dealer, with a big presence in Toronto and Calgary, and has been steadily hiring to make it happen.
