BMO Capital Markets added expertise in U.S. infrastructure financing on Monday by hiring a 20-year veteran of Goldman Sachs.
The investment dealer arm of Bank of Montreal hired Ellen Jewett as a managing director in its New York-based public finance group. She will focus on advising clients on infrastructure and airport financing, areas that Ms. Jewett covered for more than two dacades with Goldman Sachs.
BMO Capital Markets brings both advisory teams and the balance sheet of its parent bank to this sector. Ms. Jewett will be part of a team that provides firm debt structuring, underwriting, financial and infrastructure advisory services to clients.
In the public finance sector, the investment bank works with U.S. municipal and not-for-profit groups including state and local governments, public and private educational institutions, healthcare institutions, public power, as well as port and transportation sectors.
BMo Capital Markets has hired more than 100 professionals over the past two years, with most new arrivals joining the firm from blue chip Wall Street banks.
