CIBC World Markets Inc. wants to win more business from sovereign wealth funds and central banks, which are buying more Canadian fixed-income assets thanks to the good story the country has to tell on its economy and balance sheet.
To do it, the firm is bringing on Ricardo Zulliger in its New York office as a managing director. Mr. Zulliger was last with Commerzbank in New York and at Dresdner Kleinwort prior to that. At Dresdner, he was a colleague of CIBC head of distribution and derivatives Christian Exshaw.
At Commerzbank, Mr. Zulliger was head of fixed income and currencies sales in the Americas.
