The money management arm of CIBC has a new chief investment officer, as Duncan Webster came over from German insurer Allianz SE.
CIBC Global Asset Management, a fund manager with $60-billion in assets, has picked up an executive with two decades of experience, including a recent stint as head of portfolio strategies in the group investment arm of Allianz, which is based in Munich.
Mr. Webster, a graduate of the London School of Economics, takes responsibilities for all investment management and distribution activities in the division.
In a separate hire, CIBC's wealth management arm picked up AIM Trimark veteran Jamie Golombek as a new managing director for tax and estate planning. His job is to work with the bank's stockbrokers and private bankers, helping wealthy clients deal with some of life's most difficult personal finance issues.
