Macquarie Group's Canadian capital markets arm hired a new head of sales, bringing on a veteran of both bank and boutique brokerages.
Macquarie hired Mark Hoogeveen as managing director and head of institutional equity sales.
Mr. Hoogeveen has a résumé that should help him slot in nicely at Macquarie, which operates in a niche between the smaller boutiques and the big bank-owned dealers. He comes most recently from Cormark Securities, one of the biggest and most respected independent boutiques, but before that he was co-head of equity sales at Royal Bank of Canada's securities division.
