Royal Bank of Canada beefed up its Asian investment dealer on Tuesday by hiring a pair of Merrill Lynch currency and fixed income veterans.

In Hong Kong, RBC Dominion Securities reeled in Chris Tam as a director on its fixed income & currencies sales desk. He will cover clients in Taiwan. At Merrill Lynch, Mr. Tam's title was "co-head of north Asia wholesale marketing."

In Tokyo, the welcome mat is out for Minako Endo, who joins as an RBC Dominion director and head of fixed income sales in Japan. She was "director of non-Yen bond sales" at Merrill Lynch, which seems to have an endless medley of titles for its executives. Prior to working at Mr. Lynch, Ms. Endo was a vice president at Deutsche Bank, where she also worked on non-yen bond sales.
