Canadian executives are split on the emphasis they want from Ottawa – austerity or stimulus – in order to get the economy moving while maintaining a reasonable fiscal situation. But they have lots of ideas on what could be done to help kick-start the economy, some of which were reflected in last week’s budget. A large majority think more immigration is crucial, while infrastructure spending also gets broad support. However, views on the best targets for infrastructure spending vary widely.
