FOR THE BOYS: RinkLinks
“My husband is a huge hockey fan,” says designer/hockey widow Victoria McPhedran. “He’ll take me to the games but I’m one of those annoying people who look at everything but the game itself. And one of the things I noticed was the rink itself. I thought it was a really cool design.” Former New York Islanders player John Tonelli happened to be sitting in front of her husband during a game in New York when he spotted the links. “He was all over them,” McPhedran says. “My husband just took them off and gave them to him so he bought my husband a beer. That was the total highlight of his trip.” $80, available online at greenshag.stores.yahoo.net and in Toronto at GotStyle (416-260-9696). — Leah Rumack Questions? Comments? With playoff season looming, it’s the perfect time for Green Shag Clothier’s amusing RinkLinks: enamel cufflinks that are to-scale replicas of NHL hockey rinks.
