Freight railways see re-regulation

TRANSPORTATION REPORTER

Canada's freight railways warned yesterday that the federal government's proposed transportation rules could amount to re-regulation of the industry.Transport Minister David Collenette tabled a sweeping transportation bill yesterday that includes provisions designed to promote competition among Canadian National Railway Co., Canadian Pacific Railway Co. and U.S. carriers.
