Extinction theories

Toronto -- I am as much a Canadian nationalist as anyone, but I must take issue with Anne McIlroy's assertion in her otherwise quite excellent and timely article (Watching For The Big One -- Feb. 15) that "it was a distinguished Canadian geologist, Digby McLaren, who in 1970 first proposed that asteroids or comets might be linked to mass extinctions."
