Ivan Sokolov won four games and drew another five to take first prize with 6.5 points at Sarajevo. He finished half a point ahead of a trio of players: Sergei Movsesian, Rustam Kasimdzhanov and Alexei Shirov. Then followed Teimour Radjabov with 5-4, Bojan Kurajica and Evgeny Bareev 4.5, Zdenko Kozul 3, Branko Damljanovic 2, and Emir Dizdarevic 1.5.
