IFIC urges Ecker to reject proposal
Canada's mutual fund companies have begun an aggressive lobby to stop proposed regulations that would make it easier to fire fund managers.The Investment Funds Institute of Canada, which represents the country's $388-billion fund industry, is urging Ontario Finance Minister Janet Ecker to reject a plan that would give independent boards representing investors the power to sack a manager.
