CHESS

The summer was busy for ambitious Canadian chess players. First, Tomas Krnan attained an International Master norm at the Canadian Open in Kapuskasing. Then Quan Zhe also made an IM norm at the Kitchener Futurity, Igor Zugic and Pascal Charbonneau made Grandmaster norms at the Toronto Futurity and Montreal Invitational, and finally, at the Guelph Pro-Am, Robert Hamilton, Thomas Roussel-Roozmon and Nelson Castaneda all made IM norms.
