OFF-SCREEN: TORONTO NO BAROMETER OF OSCAR SUCCESS

Most of the buzz around Jane Campion's erotic thriller, In The Cut, has to do with Meg Ryan and Mark Ruffalo'ssuper-steamy sex scenes, which shed a whole new light on America's comedic sweetheart. Ruffalo, who plays a tough talking cop in the film, says the pressure on him to perform cunnilingus as it's never been done before was intense. The hands-on director apparently gave him a sex book on a woman's perfect orgasm. Ruffalo told her, "Hey, I know what I am doing here. You don't have to show me." They also brought in a $1,000-an-hour sex therapist to make sure Ruffalo got it exactly right. And while they were filming the scenes Campion apparently was shouting from the sidelines "Be a man, be a man!" Just what every man wants to hear.
