Vibrant local scene connects
For the past two months, Montreal gallery Quartier Éphémère has played host to a rather strange group of urban orphans. In an exhibition by Vancouver artist Brian Jungen, eight abandoned city cats have lived in the gallery in a scale model of architect Moshe Safdie's Habitat 67 apartment complex. As part of the exhibition, the cats are up for adoption through Montreal's Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. When resident cats are adopted, new ones are brought in to replace them.
