Top judge calls rights of disabled a key issue

EDMONTON -- Cases involving the rights of the disabled are among the most pressing challenges facing the courts today, Canada's Chief Justice says.Judges wrestle to balance the equality rights of the disabled with the level of assistance society can reasonably be expected to provide, Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin said Thursday.
