Fair and balanced -- and maybe outfoxed

Earlier this month a Polish journalist who had lived under Soviet rule, and therefore knows whereof he speaks, suggested to me that some sequences in Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 were so manipulative and intellectually dishonest that they reminded him of the best Soviet propaganda. It occurred to me this week that it was a shame I didn't ask him about the Fox News Channel, since I imagine he'd call Rupert Murdoch's 24-hour-a-day arch-conservative network a running-dog lackey for the current U.S. administration.
