Quebec film actor takes on new kind of drama

Like Ronald Reagan and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maka Kotto has gone from the silver screen (albeit a Canadian screen) to politics. Indeed, the 42-year-old Cameroon-born actor and new Bloc Québécois MP from the riding of Saint-Lambert has a new flick coming out this month, while next month he will make his debut in the House of Commons. Mr. Kotto's new picture -- Comment conqérir l'Amérique en une nuit or How to conquer America in one night -- is a romantic comedy about two old friends who meet after 20 years, have dinner and take stock of their lives.
