Abandoned lunch bag halts rush-hour GO traffic

A suspicious lunch bag at the Guildwood GO Transit station disrupted service for 2,000 commuters yesterday morning.The police Emergency Task Force was sent to the scene after a beeping noise was heard coming from a package sitting on a stack of newspapers. Constable Eric Brown X-rayed the package before declaring it safe. He said it was a plastic bag containing a bottle of water, a sandwich and a small alarm clock. "It was a little clock radio that was beeping," he said. "What I think happened is someone just went to get a newspaper, or whatever it was, and left their lunch there."
