Grandi loses his grip on top spot
ADELBODEN, SWITZERLAND -- Italy's Massimiliano Blardone posted his first career World Cup victory yesterday, winning one of the most difficult giant slaloms on the circuit, while Canadian Thomas Grandi was bumped from the top of the standing after a 12th-place showing. Blardone charged down the fast and tricky Chuenisbaergli course in a two-run combined time of 2 minutes 19.84 seconds.
