Conservatives paper over cracks, saying disagreement is normal

OTTAWA -- Conservatives scrambled yesterday to cover emerging cracks in their recently amalgamated party, with some members playing down voices of dissent and others warning that policies catering to social conservatives would cause untold damage in Ontario and Quebec.
