China declares war on mosquitoes in preparation for 2008 Olympics

VANCOUVER -- Once ordered by Chairman Mao to be killed as one of the country's biggest evils, mosquitoes are again enemies of the state in China.China hopes to rid Beijing of mosquitoes in time for the Olympics in 2008 by engaging an army of volunteers to search for breeding grounds that attract the insects.
