Federal court allows file-sharing, for now
Anyone strolling along, blithely listening through headphones to a song or two downloaded for free off the Internet, might want to thank the Federal Court of Appeal.In all likelihood, though, the court's decision yesterday to uphold an earlier ruling preventing the recording industry from suing file-sharers in Canada -- at least for the time being -- probably won't cause many people to push the pause button and stop to reflect on copyright law.
