New legislation to target copyright laws

Toronto -- The federal government will introduce legislation next week to toughen copyright laws, CTV News reported yesterday.The legislation would make it illegal to hack or break into the digital locks used to prevent the copying of movies and software, CTV reported. The proposed law puts the onus on a rights holder to prove a copyright violation has occurred.
