Roe v. Wade 'settled as a precedent,' Roberts says
WASHINGTON -- Cool, thoughtful and determined to skate away from politically sensitive topics, the man who could end up leading the U.S. Supreme Court for a generation said yesterday he recognized that the court's 1973 judgment legalizing abortion was "settled as a precedent."
