CALGARY AND TORONTO AND MONTREAL -- Scrambling to counter criticism that Ottawa's initial donation of $300,000 and two planeloads of blankets was insignificant, the federal government announced yesterday $20-million more in aid to victims of Saturday's devastating earthquake in northwest Pakistan.
