Canadian generic-drug firm plans to copy Tamiflu
Apotex Inc., Canada's biggest maker of generic drugs, has begun preliminary work on a synthetic copy of Tamiflu in case the country faces an avian influenza pandemic."We'll know in six to eight weeks whether we have a viable project," company president Jack Kay said. "Then it's going to take us anywhere from eight to 12 months before we have a product to submit" to health regulators in Ottawa.
