Rain, rain, go away but only after 28 days

Vancouver -- Many of this rain city's waterlogged residents spent yesterday praying for something odd: more rain. After 27 consecutive days of measurable precipitation, the city was one short of its record 28 straight days of rainfall in 1953, and there was a widespread feeling that enduring so much moisture should at least end up in the history books.
