Province makes plans to increase trustees' pay

After restricting school trustees to an annual honorarium of $5,000 since 1998, the Ontario government plans to raise their pay, Education Minister Gerard Kennedy says."I believe that trustees are undervalued and underappreciated in terms of the contribution they make, and of the one they are going to need to make, as we step up in education in Ontario," he said in an interview yesterday.
