Slowing truckers could ramp up savings

Proposed legislation to slow down Ontario truck drivers could save trucking companies thousands of dollars in fuel and repair costs over the long haul.Ontario Transportation Minister Donna Cansfield has proposed new rules that would force large commercial vehicles - weighing at least 12,000 kilograms - to use electronic limiters to cap speeds at 105 kilometres an hour. The announcement was welcomed by the Canadian Trucking Alliance and provincial organizations from coast to coast.
