Toronto effects firm wins Academy Award
Los Angeles -- The Oscar organization has announced the first Academy Awards of the year, honouring scientific and technical advancements in filmmaking.An Oscar will be presented to Toronto-based company Alias/Wavefront for developing the Maya 3-D animation software, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday.
