McRae, John (Jack) Frederick
1919-2008
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack, beloved husband and father, on May 13 at the Veterans Wing, Sunnybrook Hospital. Jack, loving husband of Helen (nee Keith) for 64 wonderful years, and cherished father of Peter (Anna), Alan (Judith), and Kathy (Wally Palmer), was predeceased by son John (Kathleen) and brothers Bill, Bud and David. Jack is also survived by his sister Mary Jane and his grandchildren Jaclyn, Meredith, Frederick, Carmen, Matthew, Jill, Daniel and Holland McRae and Kaitlin (John Ford), Juliana, Alan and Michael Palmer and his great grandchild Alexander.
Jack was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, where at an early age he joined the local Bank of Nova Scotia. He retired from the bank in Toronto, after 43 years of dedicated service, as the Senior Vice President & General Manager, Eastern Canada. Jack was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas for 2 ½ years with the R.C.A.F. (R.A.F.). Jack and Helen enjoyed travelling to many places around the world, but never missed a summer at Pt La Nim on the Restigouche River surrounded by their loving family.
Cremation has taken place and the burial will be in Campbellton at a later date. If so desired, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society with much appreciation. On line memories and condolences at www.humphreymiles.com.
